Scoring overview

Each clinic receives a composite score out of 100. The score is the weighted sum of five sub-scores, each itself rated on a 0–100 scale. Weights are fixed for the 2026 index cycle so that rankings are comparable across clinics.

Doctor Expertise: What We Assess

This criterion considers publicly available information about the clinical team.

The index looks at specialist credentials, years of practice, academic affiliations, and peer-reviewed output, as documented in clinic-published team disclosures and other public records.

A clinic's own published claims about its team are treated differently from credentials that can be independently verified through a public source.

A qualification does not guarantee treatment quality or a patient outcome. This section is reference information, not medical advice.

Technology & Infrastructure: What We Assess

The technology criterion examines publicly documented capabilities, such as digital imaging, CAD/CAM design and milling workflows, and dental laboratory capabilities.

A technology label on its own does not establish how the technology is used, where the work is performed, or what outcome a patient can expect.

Clinic-specific capabilities are described only when they are supported by a public source already recorded in our content.

Technology is one part of the published five-factor scoring model. It is not a guarantee of treatment quality.

International Patient Care: What We Assess

This criterion considers publicly documented information about how a clinic supports patients who travel for treatment.

The index looks for published information on language support, patient coordination, written treatment and aftercare information, access to records, and communication after a patient returns home.

Multilingual support offered by a clinic does not, by itself, prove the quality or availability of care for every patient.

Patient Care & Follow-up: What We Assess

This criterion considers publicly documented patient-care and follow-up policies.

The index looks for published information on post-treatment protocols, written aftercare information, warranty policies, and a way to contact the clinic after treatment.

International Patient Care concerns support for patients travelling from abroad, while Patient Care & Follow-up concerns documented care and follow-up practices.

Neither criterion proves what an individual patient received or guarantees a treatment outcome. This section is reference information, not medical advice.

Data sources

• Official accreditation registries: JCI, TEMOS, ISO 9001
• Clinic-published technology and team disclosures
• Manufacturer partner directories (e.g., Amann Girrbach, Straumann Group)
• International patient service documentation and aftercare policies
• Publicly stated branch locations and years of operation

Normalisation

Each criterion is scored independently, then multiplied by its weight. The weighted values are summed to produce the composite score. Ties are broken by accreditation depth, then by technology score, then by international care score.

Update cadence

The full index is refreshed annually. Corrections to individual clinic records are made during the cycle when a verified change is reported and confirmed.

Editorial Independence

No clinic payment, product, service, or placement fee ever influences scores, rankings, or coverage. The index is fully editorially independent.

Every clinic score is reviewed by the Turkey Dental Ratings Medical Advisory Board before publication. Scores reflect the board's assessment of publicly verifiable records.

Correction requests must include a link to a public, verifiable source. When a factual change is confirmed, a correction note is published alongside the affected entry.
