Evaluation Criteria & Methodology

What is the Turkey Dental Ratings score?

The Turkey Dental Ratings score is a single number out of 100 that shows how well a dental provider in Turkey performs on five weighted quality criteria. A higher score means we found more verifiable evidence of accreditation, technology, expertise, and patient care at that practice.

How do we evaluate top dental clinics in Turkey?

In our direct evaluations we start from documents you can check yourself, never from marketing claims. Our team analysed public accreditation registries, equipment and laboratory disclosures, international patient protocols, and the published credentials of each clinical team. If we could not verify a claim, we left it out of the score — so what you see is the evidence that survived review.

What criteria determine a practice’s ranking score?

Five criteria determine the ranking score: accreditation (25%), clinical technology (20%), international patient care (20%), practitioner expertise (20%), and patient care standards (15%). Each one is scored from 0 to 100 on its own, then multiplied by its weight.

How is the ranking calculated, step by step?

Here is the exact sequence we follow for every practice you see in the table above.

  1. 1Collect the evidence. We gather accreditation certificates from JCI, TEMOS, and ISO registries, plus each provider's published technology, laboratory, and team disclosures.
  2. 2Discard what we cannot verify. Any claim without a public, checkable source is removed before scoring. Based on our hands-on review, this is where most promotional language drops out.
  3. 3Score each criterion from 0 to 100. The same rubric is applied to every clinic, so a technology score of 90 means the same thing for a dental center in Istanbul as it does for one in Izmir.
  4. 4Apply the five weights. Each criterion score is multiplied by its weight: 25%, 20%, 20%, 20%, and 15%.
  5. 5Add the weighted results. The five weighted values are summed into one composite score out of 100, which is the number shown in the ranking table.
  6. 6Break ties in a fixed order. If two providers tie, we rank by accreditation depth first, then technology, then international patient care.
  7. 7Publish, then correct. The full ranking is refreshed annually. When a medical institute's accreditation or infrastructure verifiably changes mid-cycle, we correct the record and update the date stamp on this page.

Can a dental center pay us? No. We accept no placement fees, sponsorships, or paid rankings, so your position in this table cannot be bought. If you want the full criterion definitions and our correction procedure, read the methodology page and our editorial policy.

Frequently Asked Questions

How this rating system is compiled, funded, and maintained.

What is Turkey Dental Ratings?
Turkey Dental Ratings is an independent, data-driven index that ranks oral health clinics in Turkey using a published five-factor scoring model. It is an editorial rating publication, not a clinic, agency, or booking platform.
How are clinic scores calculated?
Each practice is rated 0-100 on five weighted criteria: accreditation (25%), clinical technology (20%), international patient care (20%), practitioner expertise (20%), and patient care standards (15%). The weighted results produce a composite score out of 100.
Can a clinic pay to appear higher in the index?
No. Turkey Dental Ratings accepts no placement fees, sponsorships, or paid rankings. Positions change only when the underlying verifiable data changes.
Which sources are used to verify clinic data?
Public accreditation registries such as Joint Commission International and TEMOS, ISO certification records, manufacturer partnership listings, clinic-published technology and team disclosures, and documented international patient protocols. Unverifiable marketing claims are excluded from scoring.
How often is the index updated?
The index runs on an annual cycle, currently the 2026 edition, with interim corrections published whenever a clinic's accreditation or infrastructure status verifiably changes.
Is Turkey Dental Ratings medical advice?
No. The index is comparative research for orientation only. Patients should confirm credentials, treatment plans, and pricing directly with a clinic and consult a licensed clinician before any stomatology or tooth restoration procedure.
Which cities are covered by the index?
Clinics evaluated in the current edition operate in Istanbul, Antalya, Izmir, Ankara, and Bursa, the five destinations that receive most cross-border oral health patients in Turkey.
