We keep data collection to the minimum needed to operate and improve the index.

• Anonymous usage data — pages viewed, approximate country or region, referring source, device type, browser and screen size, and time spent on pages, collected through analytics in aggregated form.
• Technical log data — data your browser sends automatically, such as IP address (truncated or anonymised where supported), user agent, and request timestamps, used for security and reliability.
• Information you send us — if you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in the message.

We do not collect health information, do not ask for account registration, and do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

• Operate, secure, and maintain the availability of the site.
• Improve the site experience — understanding which clinic profiles, methodology sections, and articles are useful, and where navigation fails.
• Protect ranking integrity — detecting automated traffic, scraping, or manipulation attempts against the index. Analytics data is never used to alter a clinic’s score; scores follow the published methodology only.
• Respond to questions, corrections, and data protection requests.

Our legal bases under GDPR and UK GDPR are legitimate interests (running a secure, functional site and maintaining editorial integrity) and consent (non-essential cookies and analytics, where consent is required).

Clinic profiles link to external websites and official registries. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to: access your personal data; request rectification of inaccurate data; request erasure; restrict or object to processing, including profiling; data portability; and withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO); in Türkiye, the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK).

Retention: aggregated analytics data is retained for up to 14 months; email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle the matter and any related records.
